We are the “second generation” of our family to go on safari with Adam. Four years ago our daughter and husband experienced the same excellent service. With Nandi’s expertise and our daughter and son-in-law’s experience we were able to maximize our total experience. She coordinated our preparations promptly with our reservations for flights and accommodations. The safari guide binder accurately covered just about any questions anyone could possibly ask. The included itinerary very accurately described our daily activities.
Zubeda’s great smile welcomed us to Arusha. After quickly getting us through the visa process, in no time we felt comfortable and confident. After our first night’s stay, Zubeda wisked us to the airport where we flew to meet Adam.
Within a half an hour at the Mara River Airport, Adam had us on a game drive! Every day we were amazed to see on the average several new species. Being a veterinarian I felt that I had a broad knowledge of the animal kingdom. However, Adam’s knowledge of both plant and animal kingdoms never ceased to amaze me. Adam’s explanation of the drastic changing of the seasons gave us clarity as to the animals’ migration patterns. We feel as though he always looked out for our comfort and safety including “tire checks”.
We were very pleased in the quality and how comfortable all our accommodations were from tent camps to plantations. We were especially surprised at the birthday cake and celebration in song and dance for Evan’s birthday at the Mara River camp. We were also excited about Mbuzi Mawe Luxury Camp where during the day cape buffalo range at the edge of the camp and at night were known to even walk through the camp. The quantity and quality of food would be hard to surpass. The occasional boxed breakfasts and lunches were refreshing as we sat at our table and observed the animals.
We also enjoyed visiting the Maasai Village and experiencing their culture, friendliness and crafts. It was fun to join in with their singing and dancing.
We were extremely fortunate to observe 600-700 wildebeests’ making the famous crossing of the Mara River. We were elated to see wet, newly born gazelles, jackal pups, hyena pups, lion and cheetah cubs, many other young animals. (They are just so precious!) The number of mammals seemed to be endless……the Big Five, water bucks, klipspringers, topis, hartebeests, dik-dik, dykers, mongooses, baboons, reed buck, etc. etc. and a “zillion” wildebeests! We were also thrilled to see many different species of birds, insects, and reptiles. Many of the plant species were also very intriguing. Here again Adam’s knowledge of “everything” was incredible.
In summary, we could not ask for any better effort on PAS staff for providing us a great African adventure. Thank you again! Jay, Sue and Evan
