Testimonial from Mr. Mel Frame of Johannesburg, South Africa

I know it’s been some time since my visit to your wonderful Serengeti, (perhaps our Serengeti as I feel a part of it now) but the images, memories and experiences are all very current and I am sure will remain so for years to come.

Firstly, my sincere thanks for the professional manner in which the entire program was designed and carried out. The attention to detail (kosher requirements, birthday gift etc), friendly manner and sincere desire to ensure that my adventure would be of the highest order, were more than impressive. A special thanks also for forwarding my personal items for me.

Of the many incidents, points of excitement and interest, I would like to share the following story with you. The second leg of my trip commenced within an introduction by the camp manager to the mobile camp and facilities under his jurisdiction. He politely informed me that there were no fences around the camp, that hyenas, buffalo and sometimes even lions pass through. However, I was not to worry as I would be provided with a powerful torch and a whistle (Much good a whistle would be against a marauding man eater!) If I wished to move around at dusk / night, all I had to was to blow the whistle and an armed guard would arrive to accompany me, (Great comfort!). “Further”, he continued “DO NOT drink water from the tap or shower; don’t even brush your teeth with basin water. For your convenience we have provided you with 2 liters of bottled water – Enjoy your experience!” (Was this guy being serious???).

Fortunately, as a regular S.A. wildlife fanatic who has spent many years hiking in all kinds of environments, this briefing only served to heighten my sense of adventure. This is Africa! Raw and natural. Primitive, but truthful. Real, unspoiled and completely down to earth. An awaking of one’s inner self – a realization of what truly matters – an experience that surely MUST be a MUST!
