The Maasai, compared to other ethnic groups in Tanzania and East Africa, have not changed very much in their customs. Being fortunate to live mostly in the protected Ngorongoro conservation area, Maasai have a natural inheritance of Bush knowledge. This is a knowledge passed down from generations past; father to son, mother to daughter. They have lived in harmony with wildlife through the ages. Their customs forbid them from disturbing wildlife, but instead respecting and appreciating it as a great blessing from the creator.
