What to Bring on your Tanzanian African Safari
1. Important Documents:
Visa, passport, airline tickets, other required travel documents, traveler’s checks and a few valid IDs.
2. The Right Clothes:
Safari dress is comfortable and casual. Layers of clothing are recommended since temperatures vary throughout the day, starting out cool, getting warmer and becoming cool again. Keep it simple and bring things you don’t mind getting dusty. Some suggestions would be:
* Comfortable walking shoes, sandals or flip-flops
* Tee shirts and light tops, shorts, long comfortable pants
* light fleece or sweater
* Swimsuit
* Cotton socks and underwear
3. Sun Protection:
Brimmed hat, scarves, sunglasses with UV protection and sunscreen lotion.
4. Cameras, batteries, and lots of film.
If using digital, lots of image cards.
5. Cash
6. First Aid:
Insect repellent, a first-aid kit and all the medicines you need including anti-diarrhea tablets and anti-allergy medication, if applicable. If you’re headed for a place known to have malaria, be ready with anti-malaria prophylactics.
7. Bring Lots Of Water During The Safari
8. Insurance:
Going on a safari trip is potentially dangerous as much as it is exciting. Make sure you are covered by your travel or international medical insurance so that you can have peace of mind while abroad.
